Malik Monk, born on February 4, 1998, in Jonesboro, Arkansas, is a professional basketball player who plays as a shooting guard for the Sacramento Kings in the NBA. He played one season of college basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats in 2016–2017, earning consensus second-team All-American honors. Monk was selected by the Charlotte Hornets with the 11th overall pick in the 2017 NBA Draft.
Throughout his NBA career, Monk has also played for the Los Angeles Lakers before joining the Sacramento Kings in 2022. In July 2024, he re-signed with the Kings on a four-year, $78 million contract.
In the 2024–2025 season, Monk has been a key contributor for the Kings. In a game against the Chicago Bulls on March 20, 2025, he scored a season-high 34 points, including five 3-pointers. Despite his efforts, the Kings lost 128–116.
