Luke Loucks is an American basketball coach and former professional player, currently serving as an assistant coach for the Sacramento Kings in the NBA. Born on April 1, 1990, in Clearwater, Florida, Loucks played college basketball at Florida State University (FSU) from 2008 to 2012. During his tenure, he helped lead the Seminoles to four consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and set a school record for the most career games played.
After graduating with a master’s degree in sport management, Loucks pursued a professional playing career, competing internationally in countries such as Latvia, Cyprus, Belgium, and Germany. Transitioning to coaching in 2016, he joined the Golden State Warriors as a player development coach, contributing to two NBA championships. In 2022, Loucks joined the Sacramento Kings as an assistant coach and was promoted to defensive coordinator in 2024.
On March 7, 2025, reports emerged that Loucks had been offered the head coaching position at FSU, succeeding Leonard Hamilton. The following day, he was officially introduced as the Seminoles’ new head men’s basketball coach, expressing a deep commitment to building upon the program’s legacy and fostering a competitive team culture.
