The Sacramento Kings are a professional basketball team based in Sacramento, California, competing in the NBA’s Western Conference Pacific Division. Founded in 1923, the franchise has undergone several relocations and name changes, starting as the Rochester Seagrams, becoming the Rochester Royals, and later moving to Cincinnati, Kansas City, and eventually Sacramento in 1985.

The Kings play their home games at the Golden 1 Center in downtown Sacramento. Their team colors are black, royal purple, gray, and white.

In the 2024–25 season, the Kings have a record of 33 wins and 30 losses, placing fourth in the Pacific Division and ninth in the Western Conference standings. On December 27, 2024, head coach Mike Brown was relieved of his duties, and Doug Christie was appointed as interim head coach.

In their most recent game on March 10, 2025, the Kings faced the New York Knicks and suffered a 133-104 loss. Despite the defeat, the team has shown significant improvement compared to previous seasons, marking their first playoff appearance since 2006.

The Kings’ history includes two league championships: one in the National Basketball League (NBL) in 1946 and another in the NBA in 1951. They have also secured six division titles, with the most recent in 2023.
