This season marks their inaugural year in the Southeastern Conference (SEC), and they have begun conference play with a strong 3–0 record.

In their first SEC series, the Sooners swept No. 10 South Carolina in a three-game series at Love’s Field in Norman, Oklahoma. The games concluded with scores of 10–9, 10–9, and 2–1, respectively.
This dominant performance handed the Gamecocks their first losses of the season.
