Kyle Filipowski is an American professional basketball player who plays as a center for the Utah Jazz in the NBA. Born on November 7, 2003, in Middletown, New York, he stands 6 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 250 pounds.

Early Life and Education

Filipowski began his high school education at Minisink Valley High School in Slate Hill, New York. He later transferred to Fordham Preparatory School in The Bronx and subsequently to Wilbraham & Monson Academy in Massachusetts. In 2021, he was named the Gatorade Basketball Player of the Year for Massachusetts.

College Career

A five-star recruit, Filipowski committed to Duke University in July 2021. During his freshman year (2022–2023), he averaged 15.1 points and nine rebounds per game, leading all Division I freshmen with 16 double-doubles. He earned the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Rookie of the Year honors and was named to the second-team All-ACC. In his sophomore year (2023–2024), he improved his performance, averaging 16.4 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. He was selected for the first-team All-ACC and received consensus second-team All-American honors.

Professional Career

Filipowski declared for the 2024 NBA Draft and was selected by the Utah Jazz with the 32nd overall pick. He signed with the team in August 2024. Throughout his rookie season, he has been assigned multiple times to the Salt Lake City Stars, the Jazz’s G League affiliate.

Recent Performance

In a game against the Philadelphia 76ers on March 9, 2025, Filipowski scored 25 points, contributing significantly to the Jazz’s effort in overcoming a 22-point deficit.

Personal Life

Filipowski’s personal life has attracted media attention, particularly his relationship with Caitlin Hutchison, a woman seven years his senior. This relationship has reportedly caused a rift between him and his family, with his mother expressing concerns about Hutchison’s influence.
