Damian Lillard, born on July 15, 1990, is an American professional basketball player currently with the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA. He played college basketball for the Weber State Wildcats, earning third-team All-American honors in 2012. Lillard was selected by the Portland Trail Blazers as the sixth overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft and was named the NBA Rookie of the Year for the 2012–13 season.
In September 2023, after eleven seasons with Portland, Lillard was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks as part of a three-team deal. He made an immediate impact, scoring 39 points in his debut against the Philadelphia 76ers on October 26, 2023, setting a franchise record for points in a debut. Throughout the 2023–24 season, Lillard achieved several milestones, including surpassing 20,000 career points and moving into fourth place on the NBA’s all-time three-pointers made list, overtaking Reggie Miller.
Lillard’s tenure with the Bucks has been marked by significant performances. On March 6, 2025, he scored 34 points in a 137-107 victory over the Dallas Mavericks.
However, the team faced challenges, such as a narrow 111-109 loss to the Orlando Magic on March 9, 2025, where Lillard’s potential game-winning three-pointer was contested in the final moments.
Despite these ups and downs, Lillard continues to be a pivotal player for Milwaukee, consistently contributing high-scoring games and veteran leadership.
Off the court, Lillard is known for his involvement in music under the moniker “Dame D.O.L.L.A.” and his commitment to various philanthropic efforts, including supporting youth initiatives and communities in need.
