Solomon Thomas is an American professional football defensive tackle currently playing for the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL. Born on August 26, 1995, in Chicago, Illinois, he moved to Sydney, Australia, at the age of two, returning to the U.S. to attend Coppell High School in Texas. There, he excelled in football, recording 78 tackles and 12.5 sacks as a senior. He committed to Stanford University, where he earned first-team All-Pac-12 honors and won the Morris Trophy in 2016.
In the 2017 NFL Draft, Thomas was selected third overall by the San Francisco 49ers. He played four seasons with the 49ers before joining the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021. In 2022, he signed with the New York Jets, re-signing with them in 2023 and 2024. On March 11, 2025, Thomas agreed to a two-year, $8 million contract with the Dallas Cowboys.
Throughout his career, he has accumulated 18.5 sacks over 115 games.
Off the field, Thomas is deeply committed to mental health advocacy. Following the tragic suicide of his older sister in 2018, he founded “The Defensive Line,” a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing youth suicide and promoting mental health awareness.
