Ezra Klein is an American journalist, author, and political commentator known for his insightful analysis and influential role in media. Born on May 9, 1984, in Irvine, California, he is the son of Abel Klein, a mathematics professor at the University of California, Irvine, and an artist mother. Klein graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in political science.

Klein began his journalism career as a blogger, gaining prominence for his in-depth policy analyses. He joined The Washington Post in 2009, where he managed the “Wonkblog,” focusing on domestic policy. In 2014, he co-founded Vox, an explanatory news website, serving as editor-in-chief and later editor-at-large.

In November 2020, Klein joined The New York Times as a columnist and host of “The Ezra Klein Show” podcast. His journalism has significantly influenced political discourse, notably advocating for President Joe Biden to consider stepping aside from reelection, which contributed to the emergence of Vice President Kamala Harris as the nominee.
