The Nicholls State Colonels men’s basketball team, representing Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana, competes in the Southland Conference. Under the leadership of second-year head coach Tevon Saddler, the team plays its home games at Stopher Gymnasium, which has a seating capacity of 3,800.
2024–2025 Season Performance:
- Regular Season: The Colonels concluded the regular season with a 19–12 overall record and a 13–7 mark in Southland Conference play, placing them fifth in the conference standings.

- Quarterfinals (March 10, 2025): Nicholls secured a 74–70 overtime victory against Incarnate Word. Michael Gray’s crucial free throws in the final minute of overtime were pivotal in the win.
- Semifinals (March 11, 2025): The Colonels’ tournament run ended with a narrow 58–55 loss to Lamar University, despite a strong comeback effort.

In the previous season (2023–2024), Nicholls achieved a 20–14 record, finishing third in the Southland Conference with a 13–5 conference record. They advanced to the Southland Conference tournament championship game but fell to McNeese.
