Drew Timme is an American professional basketball player currently playing for the Long Island Nets in the NBA G League. Born on September 9, 2000, in Richardson, Texas, he stands 6 feet 10 inches tall and plays as a power forward and center.

Early Life and Education

Timme attended J.J. Pearce High School in Richardson, where he averaged 27.7 points, 17.9 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game as a junior. This performance earned him District 8-6A Most Valuable Player honors and a spot on the USA Today All-State second team. He was considered a top-50 prospect nationally in the 2019 recruiting class. After considering offers from several universities, Timme committed to Gonzaga University in November 2018.

College Career at Gonzaga

During his four years at Gonzaga (2019–2023), Timme achieved significant accolades:

  • Freshman Year (2019–2020): Averaged 9.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game, earning a spot on the West Coast Conference (WCC) All-Freshman Team.
  • Sophomore Year (2020–2021): Increased his scoring to 19.0 points per game, along with 7.0 rebounds and 2.3 assists. He received the Karl Malone Award and was named a consensus second-team All-American.
  • Junior Year (2021–2022): Posted averages of 18.4 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. He was named WCC Player of the Year and earned consensus second-team All-American honors.
  • Senior Year (2022–2023): Led with 21.2 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. He was again named WCC Player of the Year, sharing the honor with Brandin Podziemski, and secured consensus first-team All-American status.

Timme concluded his college career as Gonzaga’s all-time leading scorer.

Professional Career

After going undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft, Timme signed with the Milwaukee Bucks for the preseason but was waived before the regular season. He joined the Wisconsin Herd, the Bucks’ G League affiliate, in November 2023. In October 2024, he briefly signed with the Sacramento Kings but was waived the same day. He then joined the Stockton Kings, the Kings’ G League affiliate, in late October 2024. As of March 2025, Timme plays for the Long Island Nets in the NBA G League.
