Johnny Hekker, born on February 8, 1990, in Redmond, Washington, is a professional American football punter currently playing for the Carolina Panthers in the NFL. He began his college career at Oregon State University, where he played for the Beavers from 2008 to 2011. Despite going undrafted in 2012, Hekker signed with the St. Louis Rams (now the Los Angeles Rams) and became their starting punter.
Throughout his career, Hekker has earned multiple accolades, including four First-team All-Pro selections and four Pro Bowl appearances. He set an NFL record with a 65-yard punt in Super Bowl LIII. In March 2022, Hekker signed a three-year contract with the Carolina Panthers, where he continues to excel as a punter.
Off the field, Hekker has made media appearances, such as guest judging on Netflix’s “Nailed It!” and participating in a “Dude Perfect” video. He and his wife, Makayla, have two children and are active in their Christian faith.
