Gallo began his MLB career with the Texas Rangers in 2015, following his selection in the first round of the 2012 MLB Draft. He earned All-Star honors in 2019 and 2021 and secured Gold Glove awards in 2020 and 2021, highlighting his defensive prowess.

Throughout his career, Gallo has played for several teams, including the New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, Minnesota Twins, and Washington Nationals. In the 2024 season with the Nationals, he posted a .161 batting average with 10 home runs over 76 games.

In February 2025, Gallo signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox. However, during spring training, he struggled at the plate, hitting just .100 with 11 strikeouts over nine games.
