Ty Chandler, born on May 12, 1998, in Nashville, Tennessee, is a professional American football running back for the Minnesota Vikings in the NFL. Standing 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 204 pounds, he played college football at both the University of Tennessee and the University of North Carolina.
College Career:
- University of Tennessee (2017–2020): Chandler appeared in 45 games, making 25 starts. He accumulated 2,015 rushing yards and ranks fifth in UT history in all-purpose yards with 3,245. He scored 17 career touchdowns, including 13 rushing, three receiving, and one kickoff return.
- University of North Carolina (2021): As a graduate transfer, Chandler rushed for 1,092 yards and 13 touchdowns on 182 carries. He was named second-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference.
Professional Career:
Chandler was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft with the 169th overall pick. He appeared in all 17 games during the 2023 season, making four starts. He totaled 461 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 102 carries, adding 159 yards on 21 receptions. Notably, he led the team with 69 rushing yards on 12 attempts against Detroit in Week 18.

Chandler is the son of former Ole Miss running back Chico Chandler. He was a 2017 U.S. Army All-American Bowl selection and earned All-USA Second Team honors from USA TODAY in 2016.
