Baylor Scheierman, born on September 26, 2000, in Hastings, Nebraska, is an American professional basketball player who plays as a shooting guard and small forward for the Boston Celtics in the NBA. Standing 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 205 pounds, he was selected by the Celtics with the 30th overall pick in the first round of the 2024 NBA Draft.

College Career:

  • South Dakota State University (2019–2022): Scheierman began his collegiate career with the South Dakota State Jackrabbits, where he earned the Summit League Player of the Year honor in 2022. Over his three seasons there, he averaged 15.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game as a sophomore, and 16.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game as a junior.
  • Creighton University (2022–2024): After transferring to Creighton, Scheierman continued to excel, averaging 12.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game in his first season. In his final season, he posted career-high averages of 18.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game, earning Third-Team All-American honors and First-Team All-Big East recognition.

Professional Career:

Since joining the Boston Celtics in 2024, Scheierman has shown significant promise. In a game against the Brooklyn Nets on March 18, 2025, he scored a career-high 20 points off the bench, including six 3-pointers. This performance was pivotal in the Celtics’ 104-96 victory, especially considering the absence of key players Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown due to knee injuries.

Throughout his rookie season, Scheierman has been assigned to the Maine Celtics, the team’s G League affiliate, where he has continued to develop his skills. Notably, he contributed significantly in a game against the Iowa Wolves, recording a game-high 20 points, seven rebounds, and six assists.
