In the First Four round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament on March 18, Alabama State defeated Saint Francis 70-68. The game was decided in the final seconds when Amarr Knox converted a layup off a full-court pass from Micah Simpson with just one second remaining.
Knox led Alabama State with 16 points, while Juan Cranford Jr. scored 18 points for Saint Francis. This victory marked Alabama State’s first-ever NCAA Tournament win. They will face top-seeded Auburn in their next game.
