Early Life and Education
Karaban began his high school career at Algonquin Regional High School in Massachusetts. He later transferred to New Hampton School in New Hampshire, where he earned the New Hampshire Gatorade Player of the Year honors as a junior by averaging 25.8 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.9 blocks per game. He subsequently moved to IMG Academy in Florida before committing to UConn.
College Career
Karaban joined UConn in January 2022, redshirting his first year. In his redshirt freshman season (2022–2023), he averaged 9.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game, starting 38 of 39 games. He contributed to UConn’s national championship win, starting the title game and recording five points, five rebounds, and three blocks.
During his sophomore year (2023–2024), Karaban averaged 13.3 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game, starting all 39 games. He shot 49.5% from the field, 37.9% from three-point range, and 88.5% from the free-throw line.
