Alex Sarr, born on April 26, 2005, in Bordeaux, France, is a professional basketball player who plays as a power forward and center for the Washington Wizards in the NBA.
Early Career:
- Overtime Elite (2021–2023): Sarr moved to the U.S. in 2021 to join Overtime Elite in Atlanta, playing two seasons and earning second-team All-OTE honors in 2023.
- Perth Wildcats (2023–2024): In May 2023, he signed with Australia’s NBL’s Perth Wildcats as part of their Next Stars program. Despite a mid-season hip injury, he averaged 9.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game.
NBA Career:
- Washington Wizards (2024–Present): Sarr was selected second overall by the Wizards in the 2024 NBA Draft. He debuted on October 24, 2024, and was named Eastern Conference Rookie of the Month in December 2024.
- Career Highlights: On March 15, 2025, Sarr scored a career-high 34 points, along with six rebounds and five assists, in a 126–123 victory over the Denver Nuggets.
