Alexandra Eala is a 19-year-old Filipino tennis player who has recently gained international recognition for her remarkable performances on the WTA Tour. Born on May 23, 2005, in Quezon City, Philippines, she stands 5’9″ (1.75 meters) tall and plays left-handed.
Eala’s tennis journey began at the age of four. She joined the Rafa Nadal Academy in Mallorca, Spain, in 2018, where she has honed her skills under the guidance of Rafael Nadal’s team.
In 2022, Eala made history by winning the US Open junior girls’ singles title, becoming the first Filipino to claim a junior Grand Slam singles title. She also secured junior doubles titles at the 2020 Australian Open and the 2021 French Open.
At the 2025 Miami Open, Eala achieved a series of significant upsets. She defeated former world No. 5 Sara Errani in the qualifying rounds and went on to beat world No. 25 Jeļena Ostapenko in the second round. In the third round, she achieved a career-high victory by overcoming world No. 5 Madison Keys, becoming the first Filipino player in the Open Era to defeat a top-10 player.
