Alexandra Grant, born on April 4, 1973, in Fairview Park, Ohio, is an American visual artist known for her exploration of language and written texts through various mediums, including painting, drawing, sculpture, and video. She is based in Los Angeles.
Grant’s artistic practice often involves collaborations with writers, using language as a central element in her work. She has engaged in long-term exchanges with writers like Michael Joyce, which have resulted in series such as the “Ladder Quartet” and “Six Portals.” In 2007, she had her first solo exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Los Angeles.
Beyond her art, Grant gained public attention through her relationship with actor Keanu Reeves. The two have been romantically involved since 2018 and have collaborated on several projects, including the publication of their book “Ode to Happiness” in 2011. They made their public debut as a couple at the 2019 LACMA Art + Film Gala.
In March 2025, Reeves praised Grant’s creativity, stating that she is the more creative one between them. The couple continues to support each other’s careers and maintains a relatively private personal life, enjoying activities such as motorcycle trips together.
