Angel City FC is a professional women’s soccer team based in Los Angeles, California, competing in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL). Established in 2020, the club boasts a majority female ownership group, including actress Natalie Portman and venture capitalist Kara Nortman.
In their 2025 season opener on March 16, Angel City FC played to a 1-1 draw against San Diego Wave FC at BMO Stadium. Alyssa Thompson scored the equalizer in the second half.
Recently, Angel City FC announced a historic four-year partnership with Bandai Namco Toys & Collectibles America, making it the first major toy brand to sponsor a U.S. professional women’s sports team. This collaboration includes supporting the SOAR internship program for young women and launching a limited-edition Angel City FC-themed Tamagotchi device.
