A. R. Rahman, born on January 6, 1967, in Madras (now Chennai), India, is a renowned composer, singer, and music producer known for his work in Indian cinema and international projects. He began his film-scoring career in the early 1990s with the Tamil film Roja, and has since composed music for numerous successful films, including Bombay, Dil Se, and Slumdog Millionaire, for which he won two Academy Awards.
Recently, Rahman experienced a brief hospitalization due to dehydration but has since been discharged and is reported to be recovering well.
In his personal life, Rahman and his wife, Saira Banu, announced their separation in November 2024 after nearly three decades of marriage. They have three children: Khatija, Ameen, and Raheema.
