Ben Rice is an American professional baseball first baseman for the New York Yankees in Major League Baseball (MLB). Born on February 22, 1999, in Cohasset, Massachusetts, he bats left and throws right. Standing 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 215 pounds, Rice played college baseball at Dartmouth College before being drafted by the Yankees in the 12th round of the 2021 MLB Draft.
Rice made his MLB debut with the Yankees on June 18, 2024, against the Baltimore Orioles. In his debut game, he recorded his first major league hit—a single to right field. On July 6, 2024, in a game against the Boston Red Sox, Rice became the first rookie in Yankees history to hit three home runs in a single game, matching Lou Gehrig’s record for rookie RBIs with seven in that game.
