Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC) is an American bare-knuckle boxing promotion based in Philadelphia, founded in April 2018 by David Feldman. It is the first organization to host a state-sanctioned bare-knuckle boxing event in the U.S. since 1889. BKFC events feature fighters competing without gloves, engaging in bouts that typically consist of five two-minute rounds. The promotion has gained significant attention for its raw and engaging format, attracting both fighters and fans interested in a more primal form of combat sports.
As of March 27, 2025, BKFC held its 70th event, BKFC 70: Hollywood, at the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Florida. The main event featured Luis Palomino defeating Howard Davis to claim the ‘King of the Streets’ title. The event was broadcast live on DAZN, expanding BKFC’s reach to a broader audience.
In addition to traditional bare-knuckle boxing, BKFC has expanded its offerings. In collaboration with Ice Wars, BKFC introduced BKFC Ice Wars, a league featuring sanctioned hockey fights that blend elements of ice hockey and bare-knuckle combat. The inaugural event, “Battle of the Borders,” is scheduled for June 2025, featuring fighters from the U.S. and Canada.
BKFC has also attracted notable figures from other sports. Maxx Crosby, a defensive end for the Las Vegas Raiders, joined as a minority owner, bringing attention from the NFL community. Additionally, former UFC champion Conor McGregor has expressed interest in BKFC, hinting at retirement from mixed martial arts and focusing on business ventures, including potential involvement in BKFC.
