On March 11, 2025, the New Jersey Devils defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-3 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Jesper Bratt led the Devils with a goal and two assists, while defenseman Luke Hughes contributed a goal and an assist. Paul Cotter, Nico Hischier, and Timo Meier also scored for New Jersey. For Columbus, Mathieu Olivier netted two goals, and Kirill Marchenko added his team-leading 25th goal.
The Devils established a 3-0 lead in the first period with goals from Hischier, Cotter, and Bratt. Olivier and Marchenko’s goals in the second period narrowed the gap to 3-2. However, Meier’s goal late in the second and Hughes’ early third-period goal restored New Jersey’s three-goal advantage. Olivier’s second goal of the game in the third period concluded the scoring.
This victory improved the Devils’ record to 35-25-6, while the Blue Jackets’ record fell to 31-25-8.
