Shad Gregory Moss, professionally known as Bow Wow, is an American rapper, actor, and television host born on March 9, 1987, in Columbus, Ohio. He began his career at a young age, gaining attention as “Lil’ Bow Wow” with his debut album Beware of Dog in 2000 at just 13 years old. Over the years, he has released several albums, including Doggy Bag (2001), Unleashed (2003), and Wanted (2005). In 2003, he dropped the “Lil'” from his stage name, continuing as Bow Wow.
Beyond music, Bow Wow has pursued acting, appearing in films such as Like Mike (2002), Roll Bounce (2005), and The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006). He also had roles in television series like Moesha and CSI: Cyber.
In October 2024, Bow Wow faced criticism for expressing nostalgia for Sean “Diddy” Combs’ parties during an appearance on the “More to the Story” podcast. Given Combs’ legal troubles at the time, including serious allegations, many perceived Bow Wow’s comments as insensitive.
