Brooke Rollins is an American attorney and politician who has served as the 33rd U.S. Secretary of Agriculture since February 2025. Born on April 10, 1972, in Glen Rose, Texas, she earned a Bachelor of Science in agricultural development from Texas A&M University, where she made history as the first woman elected student body president.
She later graduated with honors from the University of Texas School of Law.
Rollins’ career includes significant roles in public policy and administration. She served as deputy general counsel, ethics advisor, and policy director to Texas Governor Rick Perry. From 2003 to 2018, she was the president and CEO of the Texas Public Policy Foundation, a conservative think tank based in Austin. In the Trump administration, Rollins held several key positions:
- Assistant to the President for Strategic Initiatives and Director of the Office of American Innovation (2018–2020)
- Acting Director of the Domestic Policy Council (2020)
In 2021, she founded the America First Policy Institute, aiming to promote the policy agenda of President Donald Trump’s second term.
On February 13, 2025, Rollins was sworn in as Secretary of Agriculture by Associate Justice Clarence Thomas. Her appointment was confirmed by the U.S. Senate with a vote of 72–28.
