The Butler Bulldogs men’s basketball team represents Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, competing in the Big East Conference. They play their home games at the historic Hinkle Fieldhouse.

2024–25 Season Performance

In the 2024–25 season, the Bulldogs finished with an overall record of 14–18 and a Big East Conference record of 6–14. They are coached by Thad Matta, who is in his third year of his second stint as head coach.

Recent Big East Tournament Highlights

On March 12, 2025, Butler secured a 75-69 victory over Providence in the opening round of the Big East Tournament. Senior forward Pierre Brooks II led the team with 25 points, marking his ninth 20-point game of the season. This win ended Butler’s four-game losing streak and advanced them to face top-seeded St. John’s in the quarterfinals.

Upcoming Game

Butler is set to face St. John’s in the Big East Tournament quarterfinals at Madison Square Garden. Despite being the underdog, the team is confident, having previously held late leads against St. John’s this season.
