Kevin Young is the head coach of the BYU Cougars men’s basketball team. He was appointed on April 16, 2024, following a successful tenure as associate head coach with the NBA’s Phoenix Suns.
During his time with the Suns, Young contributed to the team’s achievements, including setting a franchise record with 64 wins in the 2021–22 season and advancing to the Western Conference Semifinals.
In his first season at BYU, Coach Young led the Cougars to a 26–9 record, finishing 14–6 in Big 12 Conference play. The team secured a spot in the NCAA tournament, where they achieved a victory over VCU in the first round but narrowly lost to Wisconsin in the subsequent round.
