Calloway County is a county located in the southwestern part of Kentucky, USA. As of the 2020 census, it has a population of 37,103 residents. The county seat is Murray, which is also the largest city in the county. Murray is home to Murray State University, contributing to the city’s vibrant cultural and educational scene.

Established in 1822 from portions of Hickman County, Calloway County was named after Colonel Richard Callaway, a notable figure in early Kentucky history. The county covers an area of approximately 411 square miles, with 385 square miles of land and 26 square miles (about 6.3%) of water. Its eastern border is formed by the Tennessee River, which creates part of Kentucky Lake, offering recreational opportunities and scenic beauty.​
