Chicago Fire FC is a professional soccer club based in Chicago, Illinois, competing in Major League Soccer’s (MLS) Eastern Conference. Founded on October 8, 1997, the team plays its home games at Soldier Field. The franchise is named in memory of the Great Chicago Fire of 1871.

In their inaugural season of 1998, Chicago Fire FC achieved remarkable success by winning both the MLS Cup and the U.S. Open Cup, completing the “double.” They secured additional U.S. Open Cup victories in 2000, 2003, and 2006, and clinched the MLS Supporters’ Shield in 2003.

On March 29, 2025, Chicago Fire FC played to a 1-1 draw against CF Montréal at Soldier Field. Winger Philip Zinckernagel scored his second consecutive goal of the season, equalizing the match after Montréal’s early lead.
