Chris Godwin is a professional American football wide receiver who plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL. He was drafted by the Buccaneers in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft, 84th overall, after leaving Penn State University early.
Over his career, Godwin has achieved multiple milestones, including surpassing 1,000 receiving yards in three consecutive seasons from 2019 to 2021. In 2020, he was part of the Buccaneers team that won Super Bowl LV.
In 2024, Godwin suffered a season-ending ankle injury in Week 7 but made a strong recovery. He re-signed with the Buccaneers on a three-year, $66 million contract, with $45 million guaranteed, despite interest from other teams like the New England Patriots and Las Vegas Raiders.
As of March 11, 2025, Godwin is preparing for his ninth season with the Buccaneers, aiming to continue his contributions to the team’s success.
