Clint Mosley Jr., known as C.J. Mosley, is an American professional football linebacker currently playing for the New York Jets in the NFL. Born on June 19, 1992, in Mobile, Alabama, Mosley played college football at the University of Alabama, where he earned accolades such as the Butkus Award and was named a unanimous All-American in 2013.
In the 2014 NFL Draft, Mosley was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round (17th overall). He quickly established himself as a key player, earning five Pro Bowl selections and five Second-team All-Pro honors during his career. In 2019, Mosley signed a five-year, $85 million contract with the New York Jets. His tenure with the Jets has been marked by both leadership and challenges, including injuries that have limited his playing time.
As of March 12, 2025, the Jets released Mosley after six seasons with the team, concluding a tenure that was marred by injuries, including a herniated disc in his neck that limited him to just four games in the 2024 season. This move comes with a $16.4 million dead-money charge for the Jets.
Throughout his career, Mosley has been known for his consistency and impact on the field, achieving over 1,000 total tackles, 12 sacks, and 12 interceptions. His leadership and experience have been invaluable to both the Ravens and the Jets.
