Coen Carr is a 6-foot-5-inch, 225-pound forward for the Michigan State Spartans men’s basketball team. Born on October 26, 2004, in Stockbridge, Georgia, he began his high school career at Dutchtown High School before transferring to Legacy Early College in Greenville, South Carolina. During his junior year, he averaged 14.1 points per game in National Interscholastic Basketball Conference (NIBC) play.
As a freshman at Michigan State in the 2023-2024 season, Carr appeared in all 35 games, averaging 3.1 points and 1.8 rebounds in 11.6 minutes per game. He led the team in blocked shots with 18 and shot 65.1% from the field and 56.0% from the free-throw line. In his collegiate debut, he scored a season-high 14 points and grabbed six rebounds against James Madison.
In the 2024-2025 season, Carr’s role expanded. He played in 29 games, averaging 7.8 points and 3.3 rebounds in 20.4 minutes per game. He improved his field-goal percentage to 62.8% and his free-throw percentage to 67.1%. In the postseason, Carr’s performance was notable, averaging 13.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 1.0 block per game over three games, including a 15-point game against Ole Miss in the Sweet 16.
