Cooper Flagg is a highly acclaimed basketball player known for his exceptional skills and versatility on the court. Born in Newport, Maine, he began his high school career at Nokomis Regional High School, where as a freshman, he averaged 20.5 points, 10 rebounds, 6.2 assists, 3.7 steals, and 3.7 blocks per game.
His performance earned him the Maine Gatorade Player of the Year and led Nokomis to the Class A state championship.
After his freshman year, Flagg transferred to Montverde Academy in Florida, a school renowned for its strong basketball program. There, he continued to excel, earning MVP honors at the 2023 Hoophall Classic and being named a semifinalist for the Naismith Prep Player of the Year Award.
In his senior year, he led Montverde to a perfect 34–0 record and secured the program’s eighth national title. He also received prestigious accolades, including the Gatorade National Player of the Year, Mr. Basketball USA, and the Naismith Prep Player of the Year.
In October 2023, Flagg committed to Duke University, choosing the Blue Devils over other programs like UConn. He signed his National Letter of Intent in November 2023 and joined Duke as a freshman for the 2024–2025 season.
As of March 2025, Flagg is making significant contributions to Duke’s basketball team. His performance has positioned him as a top prospect for the upcoming NBA draft, with analysts highlighting his potential as a high first-round pick.
