Tesla has issued a recall affecting nearly all Cybertruck models produced since late 2023. The recall addresses a defect in the cant rail, a stainless-steel trim panel along the windshield, which may detach while driving, posing a road hazard.
Details of the Recall:
- Affected Vehicles: Approximately 46,000 Cybertrucks manufactured between November 2023 and February 2025.
- Issue: The cant rail’s stainless-steel panel may delaminate at the adhesive joint, potentially separating from the vehicle during transit.
- Resolution: Tesla will replace the affected cant rail assemblies with improved versions that meet durability standards. This repair will be performed free of charge.
- Notification: Owners will receive notification letters starting May 19, 2025. It’s recommended to contact Tesla customer service or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) for further assistance.
This recall marks the eighth for the Cybertruck since its release in late 2023, highlighting ongoing quality and safety concerns.
