Damian Lillard is an American professional basketball player currently playing as a point guard for the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA. Born on July 15, 1990, in Oakland, California, he played college basketball at Weber State University, earning third-team All-American honors in 2012.
Lillard was selected by the Portland Trail Blazers with the sixth overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft and was named NBA Rookie of the Year for the 2012–13 season.
In the 2024–2025 season, Lillard joined the Milwaukee Bucks, where he has been a key contributor, averaging 24.9 points and 7.1 assists per game. However, on March 25, 2025, Lillard was diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis (blood clots) in his right calf, leading to his indefinite sidelining.
He is currently on blood-thinning medication and will undergo regular testing. The Bucks emphasize that his health is the top priority, and his return will depend on meeting strict health criteria.
Lillard is also known for his musical career under the moniker Dame D.O.L.L.A., releasing rap albums that showcase his talents beyond basketball. He maintains an active presence on social media, including Instagram, where he has over 10 million followers.
