Dane Jackson, born on May 17, 1970, in Castlegar, British Columbia, is a Canadian ice hockey coach and former professional right wing. He is currently the head coach of the University of North Dakota (UND) men’s ice hockey team.
Playing Career:
- NHL Tenure: Jackson played parts of four seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) between 1993 and 1998.
- Draft Details: He was selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the third round (#44 overall) of the 1988 NHL Entry Draft.
Coaching Career:
- Assistant Coach at UND: Jackson joined UND in 2006 as an assistant coach after serving as head coach and player personnel director for the Adirondack Frostbite of the United Hockey League.
- Promotion to Head Coach: On March 29, 2025, he was promoted to head coach, succeeding Brad Berry, who was let go after a decade with the team.
Throughout his tenure at UND, Jackson has been instrumental in the development of the team’s players and has contributed significantly to the program’s success.
