darrick forrest

Darrick Forrest Jr. (born May 22, 1999) is an American football safety currently playing for the Buffalo Bills in the National Football League (NFL). He began his professional career with the Washington Commanders, who selected him in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Early Life and Education

Forrest hails from Columbus, Ohio, and attended Walnut Ridge High School. He played college football at the University of Cincinnati, where he earned first-team All-American Athletic Conference honors in 2019.

Professional Career

Washington Commanders (2021–2024): Forrest signed a four-year rookie contract with the Commanders in May 2021. He made an immediate impact, recording five tackles, two pass breakups, and a game-sealing interception in his first career start during Week 1 of the 2022 season against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Over his tenure with Washington, Forrest accumulated 137 tackles, four interceptions, and nine pass deflections. However, his role diminished under new coaching staff in 2024, leading to limited playing time.

Buffalo Bills (2025–Present): In March 2025, Forrest signed a one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills. The move offers him an opportunity to compete for a starting role on a Super Bowl-contending team.

Standing 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds, Forrest is known for his athleticism, highlighted by a 4.41-second 40-yard dash and a 39-inch vertical jump.
