Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, the sequel to Hideo Kojima’s 2019 game, is scheduled for release on June 26, 2025, exclusively for PlayStation 5.
The game features returning actors Norman Reedus as Sam Bridges, Léa Seydoux, and Troy Baker, alongside new cast members Elle Fanning, Shioli Kutsuna, and George Miller.
Set 11 months after the formation of the United Cities of America, the narrative explores themes of isolation and connection, reflecting Kojima’s experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Gameplay will continue to focus on hiking and exploration, introducing new environmental effects and vehicles.
Pre-orders begin on March 17, with the standard edition priced at $69.99. The Digital Deluxe Edition ($79.99) and Collector’s Edition ($229.99) offer early access starting June 24, along with additional content.
A 10-minute trailer was unveiled at SXSW 2025, providing a glimpse into the game’s environments and challenges.
Additionally, a “Strands of Harmony World Tour,” a Death Stranding concert series, is set to commence on November 8, 2025.
