On March 13, 2025, an American Airlines Boeing 737-800 experienced an engine fire at Denver International Airport. The flight, originating from Colorado Springs and en route to Dallas Fort Worth, was diverted to Denver after the crew reported engine vibrations. Upon landing safely and while taxiing to the gate, the engine caught fire, leading to the deployment of evacuation slides.
All 172 passengers and six crew members were safely evacuated without injuries. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is investigating the cause of the fire.
