Donny Lind is an American college basketball coach currently serving as the head men’s basketball coach at Mount St. Mary’s University. Born on December 15, 1986, in New Knoxville, Ohio, Lind has built a diverse coaching portfolio across several institutions.

Coaching Career:

  • Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU): Lind began his coaching career as a graduate manager and later as a video coordinator under head coach Shaka Smart from 2010 to 2013. During his tenure, the VCU Rams made three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, including a Final Four run in 2011.
  • Mount St. Mary’s University (2013–2016): Returning to Mount St. Mary’s as an assistant coach, Lind served as the recruiting coordinator and oversaw the offense. His efforts contributed to the team’s Northeast Conference (NEC) Championship and NCAA Tournament berth in 2014.
  • Radford University (2016–2021): At Radford, Lind was instrumental in the Highlanders’ success, including two Big South regular-season titles and a conference tournament championship in 2018, which led to their first NCAA Tournament victory.
  • University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNC Greensboro) (2021–2024): Lind continued his coaching journey at UNC Greensboro, helping the Spartans secure a No. 2 seed in the Southern Conference tournament with a 21-11 record in the 2023–2024 season.
  • Mount St. Mary’s University (2024–Present): In April 2024, Lind returned to Mount St. Mary’s as the head coach. In his first season, he led the team to a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship, securing a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
