The SpaceX Crew Dragon spacecraft named “Freedom” recently concluded its Crew-9 mission, safely returning to Earth on March 18, 2025. The mission’s crew included NASA astronauts Sunita Williams, Barry Wilmore, Nick Hague, and Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov. After spending over nine months aboard the International Space Station (ISS), the crew undocked from the ISS and splashed down off the coast of Tallahassee, Florida, at 5:57 p.m. EDT (2157 UTC).

The “Freedom” spacecraft, designated as Dragon C212, was the fourth operational Crew Dragon capsule built by SpaceX. It was first launched on April 27, 2022, for the Crew-4 mission and has since completed several missions, including private flights with Axiom Space.
