In the second round of the 2025 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament on March 22, 2025, the Texas Tech Red Raiders defeated the Drake Bulldogs 77-64 at INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas. This victory propelled Texas Tech to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2022.
Darrion Williams led the Red Raiders with a season-high 28 points, while JT Toppin contributed 25 points and 12 rebounds. Elijah Hawkins added 16 points. For Drake, Bennett Stirtz scored 21 points, and Daniel Abreu had 15 points.
Texas Tech dominated the paint, outscoring Drake 50-20 inside. The Red Raiders will face the Arkansas Razorbacks in the West Region semifinals on Thursday night in San Francisco.
