Eugenio Suárez is a Venezuelan professional baseball infielder currently playing for the Arizona Diamondbacks in Major League Baseball (MLB). Born on July 18, 1991, in Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela, he stands 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 213 pounds.
Suárez began his MLB career with the Detroit Tigers, making his debut on June 4, 2014. He was traded to the Cincinnati Reds after the 2014 season, where he earned an All-Star selection in 2018. In 2019, Suárez set a new single-season record for both National League third basemen and Venezuelan-born players with 49 home runs. He later played for the Seattle Mariners before joining the Diamondbacks in November 2023.
In the 2025 season, Suárez has been in outstanding form. In the Diamondbacks’ season opener against the Chicago Cubs on March 28, he hit two home runs, contributing significantly to his team’s 8-1 victory. By March 29, he had hit three home runs in the first two games, tying a franchise record held by Luis González. As of March 30, Suárez leads the team with a .400 batting average and four home runs.
