At the 2025 Chinese Grand Prix, McLaren’s Oscar Piastri secured his first Formula 1 pole position with a lap time of 1:30.641. He was followed closely by Mercedes’ George Russell in second place (1:30.723) and McLaren teammate Lando Norris in third (1:30.793). Red Bull’s Max Verstappen qualified fourth (1:30.817), while Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton took fifth (1:30.927).
In the sprint race, Hamilton clinched victory ahead of Piastri and Verstappen. However, post-race inspections led to the disqualification of Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, as well as Alpine’s Pierre Gasly, due to technical violations.
