florida basketball coach

As of March 2025, the University of Florida’s men’s basketball team, the Florida Gators, is led by head coach Todd Golden. Golden, appointed in March 2022, previously served as the head coach at the University of San Francisco, guiding the team to its first NCAA Tournament bid since 1998.

In January 2025, the University of Florida concluded a Title IX investigation into allegations against Coach Golden, finding no evidence of misconduct.

The women’s basketball team is under the leadership of head coach Kelly Rae Finley. Finley, who took over as interim head coach in 2021 following allegations against the previous coach, was named the permanent head coach after leading the team to an NCAA tournament berth.

Historically, the Florida Gators men’s basketball program achieved significant success under former head coach Billy Donovan, who led the team from 1996 to 2015. Donovan’s tenure included back-to-back NCAA championships in 2006 and 2007, solidifying his legacy as one of the program’s most successful coaches.
