Frank Beard (born June 11, 1949, in Frankston, Texas) is the drummer for the rock band ZZ Top. Before joining ZZ Top in 1969, Beard played with bands such as The Cellar Dwellers, The Hustlers, The Warlocks, and American Blues.
On March 15, 2025, ZZ Top announced that Beard would temporarily step away from the band’s tour to address a health issue requiring his immediate attention. During his absence, John Douglas, a longtime technician and percussionist, will fill in as the drummer.
