Grady Jarrett is a professional American football defensive tackle who played his entire NFL career with the Atlanta Falcons. Born on April 28, 1993, in Conyers, Georgia, he attended Rockdale County High School, earning All-state honors and excelling in wrestling and track & field. Jarrett continued his football career at Clemson University from 2011 to 2014, where he started 11 of 13 games as a sophomore and was named first-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference in his senior year.
The Falcons selected Jarrett in the fifth round (137th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft. Over his 10-year tenure with Atlanta, he became a cornerstone of their defense. Jarrett’s accolades include two Pro Bowl selections in 2019 and 2020, as well as a second-team All-Pro honor in 2019. Notably, during Super Bowl LI in 2017, he recorded three sacks against Tom Brady, tying a Super Bowl record.
In October 2023, Jarrett suffered a torn ACL, ending his season prematurely. Despite his recovery and consistent performance, the Falcons released him on March 10, 2025, as part of a salary cap adjustment, freeing up $16.25 million in cap space.
This move concluded a significant era in Jarrett’s career with Atlanta.
