The Grand Ole Opry, a cornerstone of country music, celebrated its 100th anniversary on March 19, 2025. To mark this milestone, a special three-hour live event titled “Opry 100: A Live Celebration” was broadcast on NBC and Peacock. Hosted by Blake Shelton, the program featured performances from numerous artists, including Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood, Garth Brooks, and Post Malone.
The celebration took place at both the Grand Ole Opry House and Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium, reflecting the Opry’s rich history. Highlights included Carrie Underwood’s tribute to Randy Travis, which moved many in the audience to tears.
Looking ahead, the Grand Ole Opry plans to continue its centennial celebrations throughout 2025. A special show titled “Opry 100” is scheduled for November 28, 2025, which will explore the Opry’s legacy and its impact on country music over the past century.
