Grant Hill, born on October 5, 1972, in Dallas, Texas, is a former professional basketball player and current sports executive. He played 19 seasons in the NBA for teams including the Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic, Phoenix Suns, and Los Angeles Clippers. Throughout his career, Hill was recognized as a versatile and complete player, earning seven NBA All-Star selections and five All-NBA Team honors. He also won the NBA Sportsmanship Award three times.
Hill’s collegiate career at Duke University was distinguished; he was named the NABC Defensive Player of the Year in 1993 and a unanimous First Team All-American in 1994. He contributed to Duke’s back-to-back national championships in 1991 and 1992.
In 2018, Hill was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, solidifying his legacy in the sport. Beyond basketball, he serves as a co-owner of the Atlanta Hawks (NBA) and holds ownership stakes in Orlando City SC (MLS) and the Orlando Pride (NWSL). Hill also joined the ownership group that purchased the Baltimore Orioles in 2024. Additionally, he works as a basketball analyst for CBS and Turner Sports.
